Managing your Microsoft 365 Environment Using Windows PowerShell

1. Install the Required Software

We are going to manage the Microsoft 365 environment using Windows PowerShell. So for you to correctly use the PowerShell and Microsoft 365, install the required software. The Azure Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell commands in the Microsoft Azure Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell have the MSO in their command outlet. These steps are required only once on your computer, not every time you connect. However, you're likely to need to install a newer version of the software periodically. Install the 64-bit version of the Microsoft Online Service signing assistant on this link, and then install the Microsoft Azure Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell.

With these steps, open the Elevated Windows PowerShell command prompt and run the Install Module MS Online command. After that, for you to connect, you need to use the Connect MSL service. But stop the speaking. Let's run the PowerShell in elevated mode and test it. But before we are running the PowerShell, we need to run the link that we provided to the Microsoft Online service and assistant. I will download it and install it. I will use the 64-bit version. If you have the 32-bit version installed, I will click Next. In a couple of seconds, I will get the option to run. Click "Run click "I Accept," click "Install," and wait for it to install. After that, click Finish, and I will use the command Install Module. Ms online. Type "enter" and wait a couple of seconds or a couple of minutes for the programme to install.

You get the first question. You will be required to continue if you wish to install it or if you wish to run it correctly. Type yes, type Enter, and wait for it to complete. Now you are asking an untrusted repository. You are installing modules from an untrusted repository. If you trust this repository, change its installation policy. Yes, I trust it. Wait a couple of seconds or a couple of minutes, depending on your PC's bandwidth, and it has finished.

So I will clear the list for you to better see. Now connect MSL. service and type it in when you get this window for the administration sign in, you install it correctly. You can now sign in with the account of Office 365 or the tenant and the password that is correct for the tenant, and you are in. I will now clear the screen, and I will try to test it with the command "gets Ms user." Type "Enter," and I get the four users that I have on my Microsoft 365 tenant. So we are now connected to Office 365, or Microsoft 365. This is all for this video. In the next video, we are going to see how to create a new user with the PowerShell command outlet. So till the next video, bye.

2. Create New Users with PowerShell

Create new users with PowerShell. So run PowerShell in elevated mode, and I'll see you there. The first thing you need to do is connect with your tenant. So type "connect MSL service" into the box and you will be asked for your credentials.

Type the credentials of the tenant, admin, type your password, and you are in. So the next thing you need to do is run the command "get MSO user," type Enter, and you get all the users that you have in your tenant. We are going to add a new user to it. But first, I'm going to clear the view for you to better follow. And I'm going to create a new MSOuser with a user principal name. We are going to call it Testat, with your tenant's name, Ms. 100. That's my tenant name on Microsoft come with the display name to be test PowerShell. The first name will be "Test," and the last name will be "PowerShell." At the end, I need to designate a password for it, and we will force the user to change their password. So false usage is "location" and "type enter." I have now created the user with the name test pactmsonmaxo.com and the display name test PowerShell.

So if you get the comment again from Ms. Usher, you will now have five users. You can see here that the user is not licensed. You can see here that it is false. I will get now the user a license. So I will clear the screen and enter. First of all, I need to know which licence I can use. So I sort of write "MS all count school" and I get here the MS premium and I get here $250 with the MS premium. I will get him that. So I will now use "set MSRlicense" with the user principal name test. You need to enter the full name with the full domain name, microsoft.com. So you need now to write the pact ms 100, Ms Premiumor the name of your tenant with the licence you wish toadd at the end type and you added the license. You can check it if you used it with the same command: MSO counts cool. And you can see that we used another one. Also, I can check whether the user has So I will get Ms. All as a user. And you can see now that the current user has used the license. This is all for this video. On the next day, you are going to configure user passwords with PowerShell.

3. Configure User Passwords with PowerShell

Pack tens of valid notification messages and type "enter." So I changed the validity period for the users. Also, I can set it so that the password never expires. It's not recommended, but you can do it. So first get an MSO user, and let me just clear the screen. So I will go on with getting MSO users in the pipeline. Setmso user passwords never expire, but that's not a good thing to do. I will say it's false, so the password will expire for all the users who enter, and I have configured it, so this is all for setting up the password. On the next video, we will see how to create groups and memberships with the PowerShell. So till the next video, bye.

4. Create Groups and Memberships with PowerShell

We are going to create groups and memberships with PowerShell. So run your PowerShell in elevated mode, and I'll see you there. In the previous video, we learned that we needed to connect to the tenant so that we could change things on the tenant. So provide your username and password like we did. When you are logged in, I will create a new MSR group with the display name "Sales." It will create the sales group with the given description sales group. I will type now here enter, and I created the sales group. I will now clear the screen. I'm going now to configure a variable for the group, so it will be dollar sales. Get the MSL group where the object-dollar display name equals sales. When I type enter, I designate the sales variable. Now I'm going to create and configure a variable for the first user account at the command prompt or PowerShell by typing the following command:

But first, I will clear the screen. So the command is for the user, which is called "test." Get Ms. User, where the object is the display name, which equals test PowerShell with the first name and the last name, and I designated a variable for that user. The next step I'm going to do is add the test user to the sales group at the command prompt or in PowerShell by typing the next command. But first, clear the screen. I will add an MSO group member to the group objectid, which is a variable that I created. It is objectid sales where the group member type is a simple user, and the simple user is the test user, for which I created an object ID with the variable I entered previously. I will now type "enter" and add the user to the group. I will now clear the screen at the end just type "get MSO group member group object ID sales" to see which members the group has, and it has Auser, whose name is Test, in the group. So this is the section, and I hope to see you in section nine, where we discuss an overview of identity synchronization.

@Hector, well, have the same question, but according to Microsoft's statement they are temporarily removed from the exam, though, they can be added there at any time. and even if you face labs in this exam they won't influence your score. so better be prepared to tackle the exam questions. there are what really deserves your 100% attention.
